In consequence of fires 2819 persons have died, including 95 children. 1537 persons have got the traumas, out of them 132 children. In Ukraine during 2010 at the average daily 170 fires have occurred, in which 8 persons perish and 4 persons get the traumas; 61 buildings and constructions and 8 units of technical equipment are destroyed or damaged by the fire. Daily economic losses caused by fires have made up 6327 thousand Hrn. Each fire caused direct damage to the State for the amount of 10,7 thousand Hrn. By the previous estimation the quantity of fires due to the problems with electricity in the general statistics makes up from 20% up to 35% depending on the season of year. In cold time of the year this index is bigger, in warm period - smaller. As a rule, the main reasons are overloading of the worn-out electric networks, unsatisfactory condition of electrical equipment (the transformers, switchgears, cable facilities etc.).
